Amazing Clients with an Amazing Vision

I don’t know how I get so lucky when it comes to clients—Ashley found me on Instagram and her inquiry was the most detailed I’ve ever seen. In addition to answering all my initial questions, she had put together a mood board for their florals complete with a color pallet, inspiration photos, and the exact bridesmaid dresses!

Although I joked I could have done their florals from her mood board alone, I’m so glad I got to hear first hand about the vision. Some of the details that mattered the most to Ashley and Aaron were periwinkle and Bird of Paradise flowers. This pairing made perfect sense for their spring wedding at the lush, tropical Botanica in Oceanside, CA.

Making a Cascade Modern

I think my favorite piece of this whole wedding has got to be Ashley’s bouquet. Garden roses, peonies, ranunculus, fritillaria, orchids, and delphinium are just SOME of the best blooms that made the cut.

Through our chats we figured out that Ashley loved the shape of modern, cascade bouquets. If you’re not a florist, you’re probably wondering what exactly I mean by a modern cascade bouquet.

The most defining detail (in my personal opinion) of modern wedding bouquets is that they are hand-tied. This means that the florist built the bouquet with little-to-no additional structure in their two hands. If you were to google a cascade bouquet, you’ll find photos of flowers in an upside-down tear drop shape that has traditionally been created with added mechanics. To create the essence of the cascade while maintaining a hand-tied, airy technique we selected flowers that naturally had a drooping shape: orchids and amaranthus were perfect for this look!

Why are meadows the BEST for repurposing?

Bespoke Spring Wedding Ground Arch

Ground meadows, or nests, or ground arches are all the rage in weddings recently. The reason for this has got to be they create such high impact during the ceremony and then they are amazing for being repurposed to your reception space!

For Ashley and Aaron, we created a meadow that oozed spring. We mixed the pastel colors intentionally to incorporate the tropical blooms that made the meadow feel more one with the space. Additionally, Ashley and I chose to avoid large tropical greenery. Although this would have made sense for the venue which is filled with palms and other big plants, focusing on the blooms really brought color to the space.

As I mentioned earlier, the entire ceremony meadow was moved to the reception space while guests enjoyed cocktail hour. We highlighted the sweetheart table, the bar, and more with these pieces that looked stunning all on their own!

Mixed with the small ikebana table arrangements, guests had plenty of table space and got to enjoy the high impact florals all night long!

kind words

Everything was gorgeous: from our bouquets to the ceremony florals, ground arch, and the way they switched over to reception. The bouquets with the bridesmaids dresses?! *chef’s kiss*

Tori is the best, please book her and you won’t regret it!!
