Hi! I’m Tori (they/she), the human behind Berry Blooms Floral Co.
This isn’t your average about page. NO NO!!!! I want you all to get to know me because, just like you, I too have a pretty cool back story. So sit back relax and get ready to dive into how this used-to-be chemist had a change of heart and found their true calling in being one heck of a florist. YES, FOLKS you heard that right a total career shift.

From a young age, I have always shown a deep love and appreciation for plants and flowers. Working with my grandma in the garden initiated that spark.
FAST FORWARD SEVERAL YEARS AND….
I took that love of nature and applied it to science.

1: If I didn’t go into chemistry I probably would have gone into microbiology or physiology …. and would have still ended up being a florist.
2: You could say I’m chemically inclined. I’ve studied these areas of chemistry: structure elucidation, extended-release drug delivery formulation, and MORE!!!!!
3: I have always loved liquid nitrogen. I JUST THINK IT’S REALLY NEAT!

In a nutshell, chemistry didn’t bring me joy, and the pandemic prompted me, like many others, to explore new possibilities.
A TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE
I visited my cousin in LA during the summer of 2020. Her altered wedding plans turned into a creative adventure. Together, we brainstormed ideas at the LA flower market (my first time going!), utilizing the extra budget for an intimate backyard wedding.
Despite my limited knowledge, I crafted a three-spray arch display on a structure her brother had built. The hands-on experience and the beauty of the result immediately put me in a state of flow—I was hooked! Eager to delve into the world of florals, I started looking for entry-level opportunities in San Diego. A few months later, I began working with a local wedding florist, running her market pop-up on weekends. This opened up a world of learning, and I continued to collaborate with more florists from there and never turned back! Berry Blooms Floral Co. was officially established in June of 2022!
OKAY, SO WE’VE ESTABLISHED HOW I DISCOVERED FLORALS. WHY I LEFT THE JOB I DIDN’T LOVE & WHEN I TOOK THE LEAP INTO FLORISTRY.

I find happiness in trying out different crafts – from crocheting to my past love for embroidery. Rollerblading and yoga are activities that bring me joy and keep me active. Exploring new food spots and cozy coffee shops is a favorite pastime, and every now and then, I get lost in the fascinating world of science through some deep reading.

I'm a proud queer and Latinx business owner here in Southern California. Personalized floral design for events is for ALL, regardless of race, gender, orientation etc.

Florals are a such delicate, temporary art form that I wish more people put bouquets on display in museums. Creating something unique, just for you is what I do best.
meaningful connections
Forming deep connections with my couples is essential to my creative process! It helps inform my overall designs. Furthermore creating long-lasting bonds with vendors across the industry is one of my top priorities.
education & transparency
There are no smoke and mirrors here folks! I fully believe that transparency is the key to a healthy relationship. I have prioritized floral education for my clients. Ingredient lists and pricing breakdowns are guaranteed!
